About

After graduating from Syracuse University, Natalie Valentine spent six years in publishing, most notably on the founding staff of VIBE magazine. In 1998, she made a smooth transition into television as producer at Court TV’s daily live talk show Johnnie Cochran Tonight. There, Natalie was a writer for the half-hour program that was a mix of law, politics, and entertainment. She booked and interviewed guests such as filmmaker Spike Lee, author Iyanla Vanzant, actor Omar Epps, actress Michael Michele, and WBC heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis. And, after the Columbine High School tragedy, Natalie traveled to Colorado and covered the story for the network.
After Johnnie Cochran Tonight Natalie went to the all women’s cable network Oxygen. As a segment producer, Natalie worked on live and taped television segments for the flagship show Pure Oxygen, a daily program that catered to the lifestyle of progressive women. Among the daily writing and producing responsibilities, she produced a week-long series on women in the military and covered the 2000 Republican National Convention. Also, in 2000, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society honored her work with the Public Education Award.
Oxygen was a good place to grow in the industry and enabled Natalie to transition in front of the camera where she served as substitute co-host for Pure Oxygen. In addition, Natalie wrote, produced, and starred in A Day at Cabaret for Pure Oxygen. At that time the Broadway show Cabaret starred Gina Gershon and the day with the Broadway cast included: learning the ways of the stage, getting fitted for a costume, having a make-up lesson, and performing live on stage.
In June 2003, Natalie began her professional relationship with Banyan Productions on the 20th Century Fox’s Ambush Makeover where she wrote and produced for the daily makeover show. After two seasons, she transitioned to another Banyan show, A Wedding Story, which was the premier wedding reality show that aired daily on TLC. As the special projects producer, Natalie worked exclusively booking the reality cast for their first-ever destination wedding contest. After season three of Ambush Makeover, she left Banyan and was a show producer at Zilo Productions for Court TV’s Major Misbehavior.
In 2005, Natalie joined The Comcast Network and spent three years as a special projects producer for the morning show. There she produced live and taped segments, as well as series and network-wide specials, for the live two-hour Emmy-Award winning infotainment-style show that aired daily in nine million homes in the mid-Atlantic. After the Comcast Network, Natalie became an independent producer and served as a writer/story editor for TV One’s live primetime inauguration special in January 2008; as well as a consultant for Comcast.
In 2011, Natalie formed Natalie Valentine Productions and is producing content, nurturing talent, consulting on brands, and developing original television and multimedia concepts. Natalie’s home base is in Philadelphia, PA but she has presence in New York and Washington, DC as well.
